We were in Irvine on Sunday Morning at Mandir Temple. Suraj & Chitra had an American style wedding at our Chapel last week. However, their parents in India got word of it and weren't having it!

They insisted they have a traditional Indian ceremony (2.5hrs in length). It was actually really interesting. Food, incense, rose petals, fire and touching (hands, toes) come in to play.
Chitra looks like a hindu goddess here.
I loved how their culture is so different from ours yet the same as well. Family members are there to bless the union, ceremonial dress, flowers and rice, an officiant who guides them as we do...
It was an eyeopener and the most interesting ceremony I have seen all month.
